Licensing

Q: Does your license allow me to install one of your products on more than one computer?
A: Our products are licensed to you as an individual. As the licensee, you may install a single copy of one of our products on more than one computer, provided that you are the only user of the product, and you only use the product on one computer at a time.

Q: Can I redistribute your products to my customers or users?
A: No, our license prohibits you from sharing, reselling, or redistributing our products. If you would like to resell or redistribute our products, contact us about pricing and licensing terms. Our e-mail address is sales@fwasi.com.

Q: The content for the Struts Tag Reference Books and tag reference pages are extracted from the Jakarta-Apache Struts User Guide. Can I use the reference books and pages in my products and redistribute them?
A: No. Although the content for the reference books and pages was extracted from the Struts User Guide, the html pages that contain the content and the code that implements the reference lookup functionality was developed by us and is covered by our license. If you need to distribute the contents of the Struts User Guide or use the contents in your own product, download the User Guide or the xml files containing the contents (along with the Apache Software License) from the Jakarta-Struts web site.

Q: Are there any license restrictions on products I develop with your products?
A. No, our license does not place any restrictions on products you develop with our products. However, our license prohibits you from including any of our software or materials in your products.

Versions

Q: (Nov07) What version of Struts do your Visual Tags for Struts products support?
A: Our Struts products support Struts I, versions 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. The current release is based on Struts version 1.3.9, which was released as a beta version in August 2007.

Q: (Nov07) What about Struts II?
A: Currently, we do not provide a Dreamweaver extension suite for Struts II.

Q: (03Nov03) Can I use the struts-el tag libraries with your products?
A: Yes. However, if you use one of the struts-el tag libraries, you can not use the same non-el tag library in the same page. For example, if you use the struts-bean-el tag library in a page, you can not use the standard struts-bean tag library in the same page. You must also use the prefixes for the tags that are the "short names" from the non-el struts tag libraries.

Q: (02May04) What version of JSTL do your Visual JSTL products support?
A: Our Visual JSTL products are based on JSTL version 1.1, and Visual JSTL works with both JSTL version 1.0 and JSTL version 1.1.

Q: (02May04) Do your Visual JSTL products support the JSTL Expression Language and Function Library?
A: Yes, but you need to use JSTL 1.1 with a web server that implements the JSP 2.0 specification to use the full expression language and the Function Library.

Q: (02May04) Can I install and use Visual JSTL with Visual Tags for Struts?
A: Yes.

Q: (Nov07) Which versions of Dreamweaver are required for your products?
A: Our products require Dreamweaver MX 2004, Dreamweaver 8, or Dreamweaver CS3.

Product Upgrades

Q: What is your policy for upgrading your products when new versions of JSTL or Struts are released?
A: We monitor the JSTL and Struts releases for changes that may affect our products. When there is a new release, we determine if the new features and/or modifications can be integrated with our Dreamweaver extension suites using the Dreamweaver extension API (application programming interface). If it is technically feasible, we will offer upgrades for our products to support new releases of Struts and JSTL.

Q: How frequently do you plan to release upgrades and/or bug fix releases?
A: For upgrades resulting from new Struts or JSTL releases, our plan is to integrate any required changes to our products if it is technically feasible to do so, and to make the upgrades available as quickly as possible.

We plan to release bug fix/enhancement upgrades as necessary. The timing depends on the criticality or number of any bug fixes or enhancements to the products.

Q: (13May06) Will I have to pay any additional fees to obtain upgrades?
A: Updates resulting from any critical bug fixes or minor enhancements are free. Just download the update, uninstall your earlier version, and install the new version.

Major releases (for example, from version 1 to version 2) require new licenses.

Q: How will I know when upgrades or updates are available?
A: The simplest way to determine if upgrades or updates are available is by occasionally looking at the Downloads page on this web site. We include product version numbers and the date an item is placed on the web site so you can determine if and when updates or upgrades are released.

Operating Systems

Q: Are your products available for Dreamweaver on the MacIntosh?
A: Visual Reference for Struts is available for Dreamweaver on the MacIntosh, but our Visual JSTL and Visual Tags for Struts products are available only for the Windows version of Dreamweaver.

Q: Do your products run on Windows ME or Windows NT?
A: Our products may run on Windows ME or Windows NT, but we do not support these operating systems: we only support our products on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. You can download the evaluation versions of our products and try them on other versions of the Windows operating systems to see if they work for you.

Installation

Q: (02May04) Can I add more than one of your products to Dreamweaver at the same time?
A: Yes, you can install and use Visual JSTL and Visual Tags for Struts at the same time in Dreamweaver.

Q: Can I add more than one version of your extension suites to Dreamweaver at the same time?
A: No, you can add only one version of our Visual Tags for Struts extensions suites and/or only one version of our Visual JSTL extension suites to Dreamweaver at the same. However, you can install both Visual JSTL and Visual Tags for Struts, or Visual JSTL and Visual Reference for Struts at the same time.
